Contact Authentication Requirements
To be eligible for the EV SSL Certificate, the Certificate of Approval recognized in the certificate request is use by the requesting organization and has the authority and responsibility necessary to apply for EV certificates.
Notes:
If the Certificate Approver recognized in the certificate request is registered in government records as a corporate officer (such as Secretary, President, CEO, CFO, COO, CIO, CSO, Director, or equivalent), then organizational contact employment and authorization can be passed without confirming this information as described below.
Organizational Contact Authentication for EV SSL
The certificate authority must be able to verify all of the following Certificate Approval requirements:
- Certificate Authority must verify identity, business title and employment status of a certificate approver with the help of an independent source.
- Certificate Approver can get and grant EV Certificates on behalf of an organization through the following methods:
- A Lawyer’s Opinion Letter
- A Corporate Resolution
- The certificate authority can directly contact the senior level executives including CEO, COO in the organization for the confirmation of the authority person for further contact. If in case there are no public records regarding the CEO, COO or similar executives, the Certificate authority can contact the HR department of an organization for contact details.

If we are unable to confirm any of the essential information on your SSL Certificate request, we may apply for you to provide a legal opinion letter from a lawyer or accountant to confirm the information.
